welcome to indy’s book club!
Indy is a busy pup! She spends her days relaxing in her favorite chair or catching rays of sunlight through our front window. In the summer, she loves to swim and enjoys tanning in the backyard (seriously, we had to order special doggy sunblock!) In the winter, she loves nothing more than a cozy spot, a weighted blanket, and hours of snuggles. (Well, let’s be honest, those three things she loves no matter the season.)
But what Indy loves the very most is her job as a therapy dog! She and El are the assigned therapy team for a local elementary school, where Indy is an absolute star. She is a local celebrity, bringing joy to kiddos of all ages (and adults, too!) - Indy even has best friends at some local shopping centers. The folks at Anthropologie announce her entrance via their walkie-talkies so they can all say hi, friends at Sephora wave her in, and one of Indy’s “aunties” (hi, Lindsey!) works at Lululemon, where El used to work. Indy knows that store so well that she even tries to go in the back - she knows there’s more people to greet back there. And, certainly, she knows where to find the treats.
Indy even has a monthly visit to our local library, where she is part of a reading program for kids. She’s made special friends there, like Leah, who make her the most beautiful gifts and art. (Thanks, Leah!) Despite all the love, it’s at Indy’s elementary school that she has the largest family. She has several “aunties” that love her to bits, and shower her with treats and toys and, most importantly, love. During the school year, El & Indy visit their school 2-3 times a week, and spend hours visiting all the classrooms. Indy is a special gal - she has a strong bond with several kids, loves to read with the second graders, and generally brings joy wherever she waddles.
We are all lucky to know her.
In 2022, El started Indy’s Book Club for the kiddos, creating bookmarks, stickers, and even coloring pages! The coloring pages have been very well received, and El continues to make more, often taking suggestions from the kids at Indy’s school to decide what to create next. Because we care about sharing the love of reading, art, and of course - Indy - you can download the coloring pages below!
